Build a Robotic Motion System Around Your DJI RS Gimbal

Gimbal Module opens up camera moves that are normally impossible to execute by hand. It synchronizes your DJI RS gimbal with edelkrone sliders, jibs, dollies, and product turntables, moving every axis as one through complex, ultra-precise paths. Press play and let the system operate the camera while you direct, perform, present, or create.

Mix and match sliders, jibs, dollies, and turntables.

Point Tracking

Give your DJI RS gimbal a powerful new capability

Image-Based Tracking vs. Positional Tracking

Image-based systems chase what the camera sees, always a step behind. Positional tracking locks onto fixed coordinates in 3D space, so whether a move is fully planned or decided live on set, the framing stays pinned and the motion stays controlled. That single difference decides whether a shot looks reactive or cinematic.

Image Based Tracking

Visual Recognition

Point Tracking

edelkrone Exclusive

01 · Principle

How it works

Requires A Constantly Visible Subject

✕ Continuously analyzes the live image to guess where the subject is, frame by frame. Only works while the subject stays visible, well lit and distinct enough for the algorithm to latch on.

Triangulates Exact 3D Coordinates

✔ Aim at the target from two camera angles and triangulation stores its exact x, y, z coordinate instantly. Tracking locks onto that fixed point in 3D space, completely independent of what the camera sees.

02 · Motion

Smoothness & reaction time

Reacts With Lag And Jitter

✕ Always reacts after the fact. Every tiny subject move triggers pan/tilt corrections, so the frame jitters. Every change in camera speed or direction demands new speeds it can't deliver instantly, so the subject lags and the framing wanders. The result feels reactive, never like a deliberate camera move.

Calculates Perfectly Smooth Moves

✔ Pan and tilt speed and acceleration are calculated from geometry in real time. No matter how the camera moves, the tracked point stays pinned in the frame, and the subject can move freely around the coordinate while the camera path stays perfectly smooth.

03 · Independence

Difficult subjects & obstructions

Breaks On Obstacles And Contrast

✕ Breaks on hard subjects: intricate or hollow shapes, subjects that transform mid-shot, low contrast, repeating patterns, mirrors and glass. And anything crossing the foreground, like a person, a wall or a plant, cuts the tracking, even momentarily.

Frames Through Any Obstruction

✔ Appearance, material, contrast and obstructions are all irrelevant. The coordinate is the target, not the image, so there is nothing to confuse. Frame through anything with confidence.

04 · Live Direction

Moving & multiple subjects

Locked To One Single Subject

✕ Locked to a single subject it chases for the entire shot. Handing off to a different subject mid-move is simply not possible.

Transitions Live Across 6 Targets

✔ Store up to 6 subjects and glide between them in one continuous cinematic move. Trigger each transition live, at the speed and acceleration you choose. If you know the points your subject will move between, you don't need to know when: trigger the next POI the moment it moves and you get a true tracking effect. Decided live, perfectly smooth, never chaotic.

05 · Focus

Focus reliability

Guesses Distance With Set Risks

✕ Autofocus built on image processing or lidar guesses distance in real time, makes the same class of mistakes as image-based tracking, and stays risky on set.

Always Knows Exact Target Distance

✔ The system always knows the exact distance to the tracked point. Map your lens to its distance marks once, and any lens works like a true autofocus lens. This makes the most reliable focus tracking possible.

Positional tracking is fully integrated into the edelkrone workflow. Slider, jib, dolly, pan, tilt and focus move in harmony around your stored coordinates. You keep the freedom to react in the moment, and every move still lands smooth and controlled, with none of the failure modes of image processing.
